William’s career as an entrepreneur began in 1995, when he founded his first company, Security Check, as an undergraduate student at the University of Mississippi. Security Check quickly grew beyond its humble beginnings and came to manage tens of millions of dollars of receivables for clients nationwide. When EquiPro sold Security Check in 2008, it was positioned as the third largest check collection company in the United States, thanks to William’s leadership. William also built, from the ground up, one of the leading merchant services companies, Security Card Services, which focused on regional banks throughout the country. In 2018, Security Card Services was sold to a private equity group, which immediately sold to the company to First Data/FISERV, where William agreed to work for a period of three years, while remaining involved in leading his companies at EquiPro Holdings.

An entrepreneur in the payments industry, William has founded more than six companies and played an integral role in developing each of EquiPro’s subsidiary companies, which on 13 separate occasions were named to the Inc. 5000 list, including currently managed companies Security Credit Services, Action Auto and Life Dental Group. His business acumen and strategic perspective on risk are essential assets for EquiPro. William has been recognized as one of Mississippi’s “Top 40 Under 40” by The Mississippi Business Journal.

William is committed to building opportunity in the state of Mississippi through EquiPro and its companies. He followed family roots in Clarksdale, Miss., to the University of Mississippi, where he fell in love with both his college and the surrounding town. He still lives in Oxford with his family.
